Cybersecurity Incident Impacting Compumedics Limited
Compumedics Limited (ASX: CMP) (“Compumedics” or “Company”) has confirmed that it has been the victim of a cyber security incident caused by a ransomware attack after unusual activity was recently detected in its IT network. The incident has impacted the data on some of our systems in Australia and the United States of America.
Steps have been taken to contain and remediate the incident and to secure the network. The impacted data is backed up daily. While our business operations remain unaffected, all servers were taken offline as a precaution. Our Australian servers are now being restored as they are checked. However, some of our Nexus360 customers are still offline. Nexus360 is our web-based patient data and Lab Management System that provides integrated hardware and software solutions for both Sleep and Neurology clinics.
An independent forensic investigation into the incident is ongoing to understand what happened, its impact on our customers’ data including their patient reports, and to ensure our systems are secure, so normal services can be resumed as soon as possible.
A report has been made to the Australian Cyber Security Centre (part of the Australian Signals Directorate). We will be determining what further notifications are required as the investigation continues.
