Grael wins Powerhouse Museum award for design excellence and innovation

Compumedics was awarded the Powerhouse Museum Award 2009 for design excellence and innovative use of technologies for GraelTM– the latest Sleep and Neurology recording system from Compumedics.Compumedics’ GraelTM, is the world’s first High Definition PSG/EEG (polysomnography/ electroencephalography) recording system.

The Powerhouse Museum, through its support of excellence in Australian design and innovation makes an annual selection of products from the finalists in the Australian International Design Awards, and then awards one superior winner. The recipients of the Powerhouse Museum Design Award have demonstrated excellence in design and innovative use of new technologies to provide significant benefits to users. The technologies must also show potential to become important in the lives of Australians, be significant to Australian industry or provide an opportunity for Australian design to be recognised in the global marketplace.

Powerhouse Museum Curator of Product Design, Erika Dicker said, ”The GraelTMreceived the Powerhouse Museum Design Award for its smart and streamlined design, which integrates innovation, sustainability, and user awareness. It is an Australian product that has the potential to make a significant impact to the quality of health and wellbeing for those suffering sleep disorders.”

The GraelTMPSG sleep diagnostic device will be on display in the “Success and Innovation” gallery at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.
