Compumedics triumphs at the Australian Export Awards, capping off a record year. The Australian Sleep Company was honoured with the prestigious Australian Export Award for Small to Medium Manufacturer in Brisbane last night. This award follows Compumedics achievements as the Victorian Export Award Winner for this category. The Melbourne-based Sleep Company won both these awards for the first time in 1998.

Compumedics sells its products in over 20 countries worldwide. The Companys exporting success is founded upon the development of world-leading quality products, market intelligence, and the appointment of strategic, well-established distribution partners and branch offices around the world.

In 2000/2001, Compumedics performed exceptionally well in its first year as a publicly listed company on the Australian Stock Exchange. The Company recorded revenue of over A$18 million, of which nearly 80% was sourced from international markets. The revenue generated exceeded forecasts, performing 76% better than the previous corresponding period.

Compumedics is leveraging its existing technology for continued expansion into a number of lucrative sleep related market sectors including cardiology monitoring, fatigue monitoring, in-depth anaesthesia monitoring, and sleep treatment.

Established in 1987, Compumedics designed and constructed Australia’s first fully computerised Sleep Clinic at the Epworth Hospital. Since then, Compumedics Limited has become Australia’s leading sleep diagnostic and patient monitoring company, capturing a 70% share of the Australian market.

2001 has been a memorable year for Compumedics – 3 new products were released, record profits were achieved and a successful public listing on the Australian Stock Exchange. To be recognised with this award for the second time in 4 years, has reinforced the significance of 2001 as a milestone year for Compumedics.
